According to reports, Porinju Mariam Jose develops in the 80s. Porinju, the butcher and hero of the whole town, has a love story without meeting Mariyam, the town’s lender. José and Porinju are thick friends like thieves. An altercation during a church procession leads to a great ego struggle and gives way to violence and tensions.
Porinju Mariam Jose Story
A school year in 1965. Porinju, Mary, and Jose are in a class. Joshi is starting the film with scenes of a return to a glorious era.
The film is about a woman who has been living in a poor house for a long time and has come back decades to prove that she can tell a different story.
Camera takes you from school to life 20 years later. Mary is unmarried there. Porinju and Jose live with the crunch and crush they need.
Porinju Mariam Jose is the director of the movie ‘Joshi’.
The journey to the second half begins with a twist of anticipation for Porinju and Alappad Maria, where the broken romance will take their lives, what their friend Jose will do, and what the audience’s hope will be in the climax.
Porinju Mariam Jose review Malayalam movies 2019, a good-hearted brute who is willing to help everyone, would not allow anything to happen to his good friend José. Problems arise when Joseph goes into a skirmish to defend Mariyam, the beloved of Porinju, who sets in motion a series of violent outbursts.
Porinju Mariyam Jose is a film about friendship, love, kinship and guilt. It is also a subtle tribute to the 80s that is not based on nostalgia. Porinju Mariyam Jose is Joshiy making Joju an “angry young man”. Nylah as Mariyam, the strong, independent and the ‘damsel capable of causing distress’ reminds you of Manju Warriar in Kanmadam. Nylah’s transformation into the character is evident. And that lack of ease in the character shows.
Chemban Vinod is really the star artist here. He enters with panache and stands firm like Joseph, without interruptions. The score and background music of Jake’s Bejoy, without a trace of the 80s, works well with the narrative. The images and lighting of Ajay David Kachapilly are good, especially the picture of the eye of God in the style of the godfather.
Porinju Mariyam Jose is Joshiy’s tribute to the 80s, the era and the films of the time. Again and again, without being too nostalgic for the weather, he pays tribute to the disco of Bappi Lahiri, the melody of Kishor da, Kamal Hassan, Sridevi and Amitabh Bachchan. Referring to the climax of Moonram Pirai, he also subtly hints at the kind of end he could expect. Leaving aside the plagiarism dispute, Porinju Mariyam Jose has a good history at the hands of Abhilash Chandran.
A good cast that gives us a reasonably good performance, and a success creator, Porinju Mariyam Jose becomes a bit predictable. But one can look at it for the show offered by the narrative genius and the love story not corresponding to the margin.
