Best movies to watch with GF
Have you ever taken care of a home day only to spend all your time looking for a movie instead of watching it? In the world of Netflix, Hulu, Smart TVs, and more, sometimes movie nights are delaying the price of choice. Hi, you’re frustrated. Do you go out with love to express your feelings? Is it funny because you need to laugh? A critical drama that you can split together after that? Or something completely fun to take away from real life? And then, how do you agree on something? Seriously, there are so many options.
Don’t worry, though. We’ve taken you to some of the best guessing jobs in night movies, by sharing some of our favorites. From com com comics to comedy, animated films, classic, and more, here are some solid answers to that “What should we watch?” problem, especially on Valentine’s Day. So curl up on the couch, pick up a cozy blanket, and sit with your S.O. watching one of these couples opting for movies.
Oh, and in case you need more confirmation, Huffington Post reported in 2016 that UK research shows that watching movies is good for relationships, so there is no need to feel guilty when planning your next movie night at these movies. Okay, it’s officially time to get a comfortable AF.
The best night movies, according to our editors:
#1 About Time (2013)
“This degraded rom-com wins at night for a number of reasons,” said our Assistant Editor, Claire Harmeyer.
First of all, the actors: Rachel McAdams is basically the rom-com queen of this generation (because of her love and natural beauty), and Domhnall Gleeson is a beloved, unthinking male leader. Second, it’s actually funny. Most movies that call themselves ‘rom-coms’ aren’t funny at all, but the younger characters in this one will make fun of you for your S.O. Lastly, it is emotional, but not in the normal, predictable, loving way. ”
Basically, this movie will have your feelings because of the power of family and the normal life lessons it offers, instead of just schmaltzy love (however, with this sprinkling there too, for a night-duh).
#2 Sigible Illness (2017)
Our News Editor, Caitlin White, loves this for its ingenuity and practicality. “Based on the true love story of Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon. Being associated with Nanjiani’s comedy, of course, is funny, but it also goes, ”he said of his favorite.
“It cuts right on the root of the couple’s real concern, however in an unusual situation — especially how romantic relationships (or do not fit) into the boxes our parents built for us.”
#3 Hitch (2005)
“I would never suggest that Will Smith flew like a night film,” said Mackenzie Dunn, our SEO correspondent. “This, where Smith plays a hard-working man and a great relationship that extends a helping hand to a troubled but well-intentioned man (Kevin James) in finding love, has something for everyone. Both guys and gals alike will appreciate the mix of lovely and funny moments. And, that Kevin James dance scene that spoils it is a sight to behold – I laugh thinking about it. ”
#4 – Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
“I think my favorite rom-com probably forgot about Sarah Marshall,” said our Great Life Editor, Raven Ishak. “It’s funny, it’s romantic, and it’s brave. And it’s always a good film to have in the background when you’re doing activities with your S.O. I know, love. ”
#5 Mamma Mia! (2008)
Forget what you think you know about Mamma Mia !, because according to our Social Media Manager, Danielle Fox, all singing and dancing, makes a good night movie.
“I’m thinking of looking at Mamma Mia! another important thing will be the litmus test, ”he said. “If they can’t fully appreciate ABBA and Meryl Streep’s singing about overwork, I don’t give them a chance.”
#6 Moonstruck (1987)
You will feel amore after watching this rom-com that won Oscar insanity including Cher’s Best Actress Academy Award and Best Picture. Next comes Loretta Castorini, a widow who lives with her large Italian family in Brooklyn. After agreeing to marry one man, Castorini falls in love with his hot-headed younger brother, and well, we’ll let you look at the others. It’s stunning, watery, and a little retro, making it a great choice for a night out.
“I have a lot to say about this movie,” one of our writers reported. “In my opinion, honestly it’s one of the most romantic movies. There’s something special about being a low-budget Indie film, too. It is kind and more logical. Needless to say, the songs are amazing (and you and your SO will want to listen to them over and over again after seeing the film). Take it from me: This low-key romantic music will make you ‘Few Fallen’ in love. ”
#7 Up (2009)
Want to know what true love is? Up opening sequence. And you will want your significant other to come closer as you watch the dramatic beginning – and the devastation. This bright nighttime choice has a simple heart and fun, something we can all leave behind when you can’t make up your mind.
#8 – Princess Bride (1987)
This wonderful adventure film is popular for a very good reason, and it still holds true 30 years later.
#9 Love and Basketball
What this movie is all about is in the title. Sanaa Lathan and Omar Epps play characters who pursue their dreams of becoming professional basketball players and, while doing so, fall in love.
#10 DONGA-E
This Pixar film will remind you of the simple joy of just holding the hand of your important one.
#11Part of Dreams
Dreams Camp is known for having the power to make older men cry, but anyone of any gender will go through this story featuring the magic of baseball.
#12Brokeback
Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger express the grief of denying who he really is – and who he truly loves – west of Ang Lee.
#13 When Harry Met Sally…
An important rom-com explores whether women and men can be just friends.
#14 Lord of the Rings triology
Next time the whole day is over with your bae, get something and watch all three films of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. Bonus points if you are looking for extended types.
#15 Grosse Pointe Nothing
You wouldn’t expect a movie about a professional assassin going to his high school reunion to be so great, but then again, that’s what happens when you include John Cusack, Minnie Driver, Dan Aykroyd, and killer music (har har).+
Conclusion :
It is very interesting to see how each day ends differently depending on who is sitting at the wedding guests table. Each different location has a different combination of local lines, character interactions, and climax. There are game changes in this film that can make or break the views of any viewer.
